The atmosphere in the silo or bin is inertisized with N₂ with the result that due to the low oxygen concentration no explosion can occur. To ensure that the oxygen concentration is maintained within the specified limits it is necessary to monitor and control the N₂-dosing process.

A soft drinks production process is a continuously mixing of syrup, water and often carbon dioxide. After it all has been mixed in the mixing system it is to recommend to control on-line to ensure that the required concentrations are achieved.  

Directly at the output of the mixer the Procan-BMS (Beverage Monitoring System) takes a sample. The by-pass flows through the system. The Procan-BMS measures and controls all types of soft drinks including diets and juices containing fruit particles
